Vespa lamp
We know our Amerivespa coverage is a bit tardy, but we ran across this story while getting ready for Spokane Scoot, so it's OK to post first, isn't it?

The nice item you see at left is one of a series of scooter-themed lamps by Italian artisan Maurizio Lamponi Leopardi , and if you really, really wanted one it might set you back around $1,400 US, according to the source of this find, the Manila-based blog Who Rides a Vespa?

Each one is quite different, ranging from the Vespa headset in the picture, to a Lambretta one, even two Azzurra models - and of course, they're fully functional. Some, it appears, even include a horncast as part of the lamp stem...wonder if they're rigged to beep in the same feeble fashion as an actual scooter? Check out Maurizio's gallery here.

Now we're picturing an alarm-clock version that beeps and flashes its headlight! (Send all royalty checks to the club, please...)  dingbat
