Two kicks, and voila!
Cue the Hallelujah Chorus.

After months of pouring over wiring diagrams, ordering parts, quizzing mechanics, and cursing the invisible electron, Rick’s transplanted P200 motor is running. Fault a little item on the brand-new stator plate, the one that is supposed to signal the spark plug to fire but did so 60 degrees out of whack - a little black cube called the pickup coil. No on-line resource ever mentioned this behavior, no Vespa mechanic ever thought it could be or had ever seen such weirdness, but darned if the thing ain’t running now, and seems to be running well.

Who knew it would take so long ? Might Rick have pushed the bike over a cliff, Quadrophenia-style, if it hadn't worked when it did? We think so.

Trial and error? Rick called it trial and tribulation, but his bike should be back on the road soon.

Just as soon as he gets the carburetor adjusted, that is. dingbat
