What's that catchphrase? As far as we know, surveys for scooter clubs are pretty unusual, but with ridership growing and everyone saying they'd like to keep improving the club, a little polling seemed like a great way to figure out what makes our riders happy. So, in early January, we e-mailed out a survey to everyone in our database, plus posted the thing on the site and issued a deadline of March 1, 2007. Deadline's come and gone, so it's time to relay them results...here are the highlights:
- • Of all ride types, folks preferred the weeknight short-ride format (scoring 4.1 out of 5), though nearly as many expressed an interest in the occasional weekend group ride. Just about everyone thought special events and rallies like Spokane Scoot were important, too.
- • Folks love this here website, but are really, really keen on getting some additional bells and whistles installed such as a member forum (for posting impromptu rides, mechanical Q & A, etc.), a member-accessible photo gallery, and a full-on activities calendar. In fact, the only idea to score a unanimous score of 5.0 was getting a forum/bulletin board up and running, with the calendar notion just a notch behind at 4.9!
- • Other than the missing features, last year's website content seems to have satisfied just about everyone. The weekly ride summaries scored well, as did the image galleries posted whenever we had snaps to show off. Membership e-mail accounts were pretty popular (gotta have that "@theminions.org" address!)
- • Our group showed themselves a brand-tolerant bunch, too. Though classic bikes may still be a focus, nobody thought members or guest riders ought to be screened on what they were riding.
If you want the full-on, tabluated and transcribed results, download the file below and enjoy. Results will in fact help set the agenda for this year's activities, so look for things like maybe one weekend ride per month, more (or at least as many) special event rides, and - sorry, webmaster - a lot more website features. If you didn't return a survey, well, don't complain to us! Minions survey results - download (476 Kb, Acrobat® file) |
