Vespa Spokane Update, v.1
Thursday, 25 January 2007

With one foot out the door this morning, consider this a quick update on a topic important to all Spokane-area Vespa owners. Thanks to Jack and Melissa for the tip below:

"I thought you and the other members might be interested to learn that Camp Motorsports is under new ownership. We learned this after stopping in on Saturday. We noticed only a few Vespas on the floor and asked if they had picked up the dealership. The answers were vague and evasive. No one was sure if they would continue with the line or not. Cody the service guy is still there, and said he would be servicing the units, but as new model owners we have some concern if 'unauthorized' service would void the warranties. At any rate, we thought others might share our concerns and that perhaps you could rally the troops to let the new owner know that we want and would support a Spokane dealership."

We were aware as early as last November that Camp had been trying to sell his entire dealership - Suzuki, Arctic Cat and Vespas included - but this is the first we've heard about an apparent purchaser. Give 'em a call. Vespas continue to sell well, have a solid dealer markup (presumably, given their price), and there are quite a few already on the streets here in Spokaloo. Heck, even the Tri-Cities have a Vespa dealership now. Check back and/or be sure to share whatever new information you have. Gotta keep a dealer in Spokane!
