group rides
Signal to wake ET/LX riders
We’ve been a little more focused on rider safety recently, since we’ve been doing a lot of group rally rides and since Rick’s wife Charlotte just finished a local Motorcycle Safety Foundation rider training course to nab her license endorsement (congratulations, Charlotte!)

Anyway, we ran across this great “how-to” video all about group rides and thought we’d post it for the good of the cause. Entitled the “MSF Guide to Group Riding,” it covers a lot of territory, from hand signals, to travel formations, to stuff we’re maybe too familiar with - like mechanical breakdowns during rides. There’s a lot to absorb, and frankly, there’s a lot we could all take pointers on. Well worth watching.

The Motorcycle Safety Foundation website is a fantastic resource, by the way. The site includes several other instructional videos, scores of documents and even a (sort-of) instructional video game called the Motorcycle Challenge.

Check it out, or at least be ready to tell Rick you did, so he won’t be tempted to bring several of the MSF movies to the next group meet and force everyone to watch. dingbat
