This weekend, Downtown Spokane should be abuzz. The word renaissance has been beaten silly in recent years, but the signs are all there that it may actually be happening, and this weekend’s “Live it Up!” event showcases much of the proof. For those that haven’t heard the hoopla, many of downtown’s new condo projects are opening their doors this weekend – showing off the tip of the iceberg, as it were, in terms of new downtown investment. Take everything on display this year, triple it, and that’s what you’ll find downtown by this time next year. It's growth for sure, but renaissance isn't about quantity - it's about quality. To put it another way, it ain’t about the money, it’s about the ideas and culture it's supposed to foster.
