Vespa Spokane Update, v.4
Tuesday, 03 April 2007

Sisyphus
Some days, it's like this.
Our most recent post about Spokane’s troubled time with Vespa dealerships was intended to be our last for a while. But a recent phone call from Vespa/Piaggio corporate begs an update. To everyone following this story, here’s the scoop:

Last week, Doug Farrelly, regional representative for Vespa/Piaggio , called to say they’d been monitoring the situation in Spokane and wanted to provide an update to local riders.

According to Doug, the former Vespa of Spokane ownership had attempted to dispose of his existing stock, including - without pre-authorization - rights to sell the Vespa brand locally.

St. Patrick's Warm-Up Ride
Saturday, 17 March 2007
patricks day
Token shamrocks...
It wasn’t exactly official, but our meet-up with the Two-Percent group on St. Patrick’s Day probably constituted the Minions’ first ride of the year. The weather was fantastic, and it was great to get the bikes back on the road and thoughts focused on the upcoming season.

Details:
• Many of the Two-Percent guys are also members of the Couer d’Alene Black-Metal band Scatterbox, and since nearly every venue in downtown Spokane is booked solid on St. Patrick’s Day, the guys were here to play a late-night set at The Boulevard.
• Two-Percent Sean was nice enough to suggest a two-club meeting and ride starting at noon starting at Lion’s Lair. (Thanks, Sean!)
• Rick’s bike was still out of commission, so Paul and Marla kindly offered up one of their ET4s, and doubled up on their other ride.
• Notice went out earlier in the week via e-mail and this site’s ride flag (it’s at the upper right-hand corner of the page, Mark!)

So, in early January, we e-mailed out a survey to everyone in our database, plus posted the thing on the site and issued a deadline of March 1, 2007. Deadline's come and gone, so it's time to relay them results...here are the highlights:
