Brian's tatoo
Top this, if you can!
If you’re into scooters, and you’re into tattoos (no, they don't always go together), you’ll appreciate this one. Member Brian recently showed up with this new, glorious ‘tat on his left leg, and we just had to post a shot of it for all the world to see. We’ve seen cartoon-y scooter tattoos, ones with demons or Vargas-style girls, but none that are as pure, brand and model-proud as this one – a near photo-perfect image of Brian’s 2005 PX 150 Serie America. Very, very cool.

Vespa USA, we’ve got a high-resolution shot of this in case you’re interested! dingbat

2007 MDT start line
Eastern Washington used to be known for its apples. These days, it’s all about world-class wine from Columbia valley vineyards. Some of the best new producers have set up wineries right here in Spokane, and recently began hosting an annual Spring Barrel Tasting, set the same weekend as Mother's Day. Our group’s first try at visiting a few of the best took place this year – here’s a recap:

The day's group, including members Paul, Marla, Rick, Charlotte, Mark, Brian and guest Pat, met at the Rocket on Cedar. Over coffee and pastries on the patio (warm spring days in Spokane are the best), the route was laid out based on which of the dozen or so wine tour stops seemed most appealing. Equal parts scenery and tastebuds selected Townshend on Greenbluff, Arbor Crest overlooking the river, followed by downtown’s Caterina, the new Vintage Hill, and Barrister.

Mort Goes Large
Saturday, 26 May 2007

Maxi scooters require really long captions. Mort's at left.
Upcoming Amerivespa is already working its magic. We're hearing from a lot of folks around the state who want to know if we'll be there, or want to tell us they'll be attending. For instance, we got a nice note and a few pix from former regular Mort the other day.

FYI, Mort moved to Seattle over the winter to be closer to son Marc (Minon co-founder) and family. Seems Mort has found a maxi scooter group to ride with over there, and sent snapshots from a 360-mile loop to Yakima and back. Nice!

He also sent regards to the local gang, and promised both he and Marc would be there for Amerivespa. We're not sure if Marc's cool Rally 200 has even been ridden since he left Spokane early last year...but we're looking forward to seeing them both. dingbat
