Collin's Breaking News
Saturday, 25 August 2007

Collin pixSpokane Scoot always brings new faces to the scene, and sometimes brings back old friends we haven't seen in awhile.

To the latter category, we add our long-lost Collin - who entered pharmacy school last year and hadn't ridden with the group in months - but showed up for this year's 'Scoot. If you didn't meet Collin there, it might've been due to the fact that his Zip Vento broke down mid-ride Friday night, and then, despite his best efforts afterwards, broke again on the way to the Saturday meet-up. Bummer!

On the up-side, Yumi - the Japanese girl Collin met after being late to a Minion ride - is still in his life, they're still engaged, and he's still visiting her often (in Japan!)

So, even if it was for a short while, it was nice to see the Zip Kid again. We wish him all the best. dingbat

Friday ride
Friday night's lights
Spokane Scoot 2007 is over.

While we recover (and others get to work fixing their bikes), look forward to scintillating details on our third and biggest rally yet, including:

  • • Headcount (all rally-packs sold!)
  • • Ride recaps (four epic rides!)
  • • Press coverage (Front-page article and TV news!)
  • • Two-stroke seizure stories!
  • • Two-percenters seize the Davenport!
  • • Shredded tires!
  • • Transparent codpieces!

...and much more. For now, thanks to ALL for a great turnout, and a great time. Oh, and send us your snapshots ASAP!  dingbat

vespa of spokane
How about a mugshot, VOS?
Another interesting item landing in our inbox came from someone we don’t know very well yet, but hope to get to know better soon - Mr. Rick Manfred, owner and all-round lead guy at Vespa of Spokane.

Says Rick:

“We would like to thank you for the great article June 25th. Since then, we have had Kevin Schulze attend technical training for Vespa and Piaggio scooters. We’ve also exceeded our sales goals for Vespa. With all the support and patience everyone has extended, we express our utmost gratitude. We still have some delays with parts, although this problem has improved dramatically. Next month we’ll be attending the annual dealer meeting in Arizona, and Vespa has informed us that there are some great new accessories coming soon.”

He went on to let us know that through the end of October, Vespa will include a two-year extended warranty with the purchase of most models, and invited everyone to drop in for a visit at either of their two locations – at 2405 N. Division Street in Spokane, or on Northwest Boulevard in Coeur d'Alene.
