Home in a nutshell.
We can't even begin to list how many ways this is bat-sh** crazy. Yet somehow, we can't seem to look away.

Found first on the excellent New Café (Racer) Society blog, this movie - a three-part series, in case you're extra-intrigued - follows Brit  Colin Furze around...and around...inside his home-made wooden drum called "The Wall of Death."

Yes, there's a scooter or two involved. There's a crash. An thankfully, for our eyes, at least, no major impalements were filmed (though the prospects clearly are there).

Oh, the humanity! (Oh, will the 2% Club build one of these for Inland Invasion??)  dingbat

Mon Vespa, Mon cheri ?
It's sooo good to be young and photogenic. Or, at least own something that's young and photogenic.

So, clubbie Marla got a call recently from a photographer that knew she knew a bunch of local scooterists. Seems he wanted to do a photo-shoot for an upcoming concert at the Knitting Factory, including the band Mon Cheri. Would the Minions - more specifically their scooters - provide a scenic, urban-cool backdrop for the band?

Um, yes.

With something like ten bikes both vintage and new, the gang had as nice a time as possible given the Wednesday ride wasn't really a ride. But with nice happy-hour goodies at Zola beforehand and beer at the Baby Bar afterwards, it proved a great social outing - and, they say, we'll all get a tiny slice of fame via a photo or two in an upcoming Inlander.

Details on the concert? Here's the scoop:

"The Inlander is about to release its annual Local Music Issue and, for the first time, is celebrating with a release party. Watch performances by the 2009 Buzzworthy Bands - selected by people in the scene and, for the first time, Inlander readers. Wednesday, April 15, 7:00 - 11:00 pm. Just $5, booze available, and all ages are welcome."

MSC on micro-micro cache
Geocaching is a relatively new pastime, relying on GPS units to hunt and log "finds" of small containers hidden by others, often in urban areas. Sometimes, a cache may be nothing more than a notepad and pencil; other times, it may contain small trinkets that can be swapped out by the finder in exchange for a similar item.

Thanks to Kevin and Suzette for coming up with the idea to combine geocaching with a weekend club ride. The two - leading about a dozen members behind their orange Stella and sidecar - had pre-selected five published local geocache sites, and together with coordinates and clues, kept everyone well-entertained.

Kudos to Robin for finding two of the five stashes, and to Rick, Mark and Melissa for finding one each. Coffee at club fave The Shop to start, with beer and burgers afterwards, made it all the more enjoyable.

Got photos? Add 'em to the club photo cache at Picasa™ where Rick's begun an event folder. Get in touch with him via e-mail for the login information. Read more about geocaching here.

Oh, and besides recording our visit on each logbook, one stop in particular now has a club sticker enclosed in the box. Go find it! dingbat
